Statue of Liberty

Perhaps the most obvious spot in the great county, perhaps nothing to tell about here, everybody knows it but nevertheless worth a visit. Get the free country feeling, or free world, yes, its real name is Liberty Enlightening the World. It was presented as a gift from the French people in 1886 in memory of 100 years of independence, the US that is. This copper statue was designed by an artist named Bartholdi, but was constructed by Gustave Eiffel - yes the Eiffel Tower guy. Great views also of Manhattan on the way out and back.
